Sea2City Vancouver

MVRDV, as part of a team named North Creek Collective, has presented a series of proposals for the City of Vancouver, to adapt waterfront buildings, landscape and infrastructure to accommodate to rising sea levels.

Street Expansion in Informal Settlement

Imurro Wanhuwana is a small-scale public space intervention in the informal settlement, Maxaquene D, in Maputo, Mozambique. The project seeks to demonstrate new approaches to street expansions in informal settlements in order to improve access conditions, increase feasibility of investments in infrastructure, support social life in the public space and reduce resource consumption of construction. 

Bara Bridge

The design of a new pedestrian and cycle bridge in a major park in Sydney by Australian firm Sam Crawford Architects (SCA) was inspired by the shape of ‘bara’ eels and their migration to the Pacific Ocean from the very pond it traverses.

Xie Peihe | Red Box

The project is located in Zhongsanhe Village, Xinxi Town, Longhu District, Shantou. The site is situated in the center of Xinxi Town, a 500m-diameter busy life circle which consists of markets, schools and hospitals and completely retains the features of the traditional town.

Gare Maritime Brussels | EU Mies Award

Gare Maritime, once Europe’s largest railway station for goods on the Tour & Taxis site in Brussels, has been transformed into a covered city with a mixed program of working and shopping and plenty of public space to relax. Under impressive steel roofs Neutelings Riedijk Architects designed the new Gare Maritime as a city district; ‘a city where it never rains’.

Klenoviy Bulvar 2 Station

Transporting 2.5 billion passengers each year with a peak daily usage of almost 10 million, the Moscow Metro continues to expand to serve the city’s increasing population that has grown by more than 3 million (over 30%) to 12.5 million people in the past 20 years.

Sandkaj Boardwalk

In connection with the development of the Aarhusgade district in Nordhavn, SLETH has designed a 425-meter-long promenade at Sandkaj harbour pier - an urban space based on Nordhavn's industrial character.
