Zinzikon School

The Zinzikon quarter in Oberwinterthur developed on agricultural land between the Eichwald forest and the core of the old village in the 1970s. Over the decades which followed, development in the quarter continued with mostly three-storey houses along Binzhofstrasse and Ruchwiesenstrasse with no urban development plan.

Family Box, in Qingdao

Crossboundaries
As early childhood education progresses rapidly in China, Family Box recently opened its 6th branch in Qingdao, China. Crossboundaries’ design for the two-level 4400sqm facility offers the enterprise’s usual functions such as a children swimming pool, classrooms, open play areas and a cafe.

The Medical Studies Centre in the academic section of Erasmus MC is a beneficent sea of space and light under a high ceiling with lots of glass. This used to be ‘level 2’, a paved exterior courtyard intended by the original designers to guide the user on an attractive route through the complex.

Danish architects COBE have completed a new daycare center in Copenhagen with curved corners, lush roof gardens and a special brick facade that gives the building a warm modern feel and at the same time reflects its historic surroundings.
