Zheng Yong, Chief Architect at China Southwest Architectural Design and Research Institute Corp. Ltd and Principal of Zheng Yong Architectural Design Studio, has dedicated over 30 years to architectural design. His extensive expertise spans a wide range of project typologies, such as cultural and exhibition facilities, luxury hotels, and super high-rise buildings. He has received more than 90 awards at national, provincial, and ministerial levels, and has led or participated in the formulation of nine national and local codes and standards. Additionally, he holds eight national patents.
Based in Western China, Zheng Yong is deeply committed to documenting and preserving the traditional architectural heritage of Southwest China. He continually explores ways to incorporate local traditions into contemporary design, weaving the region’s multi-ethnic and geographic characteristics into architectural practices. By reinterpreting traditional culture through architectural language, he fosters a harmonious integration of architecture with its environment, advancing sustainable development within the profession.

Founded in 1950, China Southwest Architectural Design and Research Institute Corp. Ltd (officially abbreviated as CSWADI) is one of China’s largest state-owned class-A architectural design corporations with the longest history and the most comprehensive range of design disciplines.
