Born in 1980. Graduated from Musashino Art University. As graphic designer, Rikako designs perceptual information as a mediator communicating ideas behind the subject to public, while questioning existing points of view and aiming to contribute to renewing existing values. Her major design projects include: Sapporo International Art Festival 2014 under the theme of “city and nature”; Textile design for Louis Vuitton Scarf made of Japanese organic cotton and hand printing technique; Night Crusing, a documentary film about a story of movie making by a congenitally blind actor/director;
Tohoku Youth Orchestra, an orchestra consisting of children from the prefectures devastated by the Tohoku Great Earthquake; Anish Kapoor’s Outline of Collapse, artist Anish Kapoor’s exhibition; Community, Fantasy, Future, architecture collective ASSEMBLE’s exhibition; also engaged in anti-nuclear projects including PEACE SHADOW PROJECT in collaboration with artist Tatsuo Miyajima and YMO / NO NUKES 2012, recording of a live performance by Yellow Magic Orchestra.
