LOHA’s design for Mariposa1038 plays with this burgeoning area’s density with a pure cube extruded to fit tight on its lot, and then formed to gesture back to the public street and surrounding context.

Los Angeles County is currently home to the nation’s largest homeless population - over 58,000 individuals and counting. LOHA’s design for MLK1101 Supportive Housing transforms a vacant, unimproved lot in South Los Angeles into an uplifting housing community for previously homeless individuals to thrive.

Working in partnership with aquatic design consultant Counsilman-Hunsaker and our client the City of Billings Parks and Recreation, our team designed a renovation for the facility that would provide an exceptional (and invigorating) experience for staff and pool-goers alike.
