We create design that connects with people in a profound, warm, and inspiring way.

OEO Studio is a Copenhagen-based interdisciplinary design studio founded in 2003, with a project office in central Tokyo, Japan. The studio’s work spans the fields of product design, residential architecture, hospitality, commercial interiors, creative direction, and design strategy. OEO Studio is a dedicated and experienced team deeply rooted in Scandinavian values and design heritage infused with Asian aesthetics. The studio’s approach is holistic and dedicated to narrative with a high attention to detail.

Thomas Lykke and Anne-Marie Buemann, founders of OEO Studio, have earned a strong reputation for their passion and commitment to delivering truly impactful design. By virtue of the immersive and creative journeys they undertake with clients and partners Thomas and Anne-Marie have engaged in a wide range of design assignments worldwide. Their insightful understanding of the personality of a brand and their conceptual approach to creating designs unlock new and meaningful dimensions.

Crafting a unique concept narrative for each project is fundamental to OEO Studio. The studio applies a bespoke approach to each project and is driven by a passion for creating bold products and warm spatial experiences that connect with people in a profound, relevant, and inspiring way. From the big picture to the smallest detail, the story informs and drives the design.

OEO Studio embraces a distinct aesthetic that meaningfully translates between interiors for retail, residential and hospitality projects, furniture-making and beyond. Each project is enhanced by a particular sensibility to working with materiality and textures, which are often applied in novel ways and framed by their cultural context to offer a compelling sense of minimalism.

OEO Studio has created award-winning designs for a broad spectrum of discerning clients world-wide and has shaped new design brands as well as guided internationally acclaimed companies. Their work ranges from the interiors of Michelin-starred restaurants to aspirational objects that have earned their place in the permanent collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, at the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum in New York, at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and the Design Museum in Copenhagen.

Previous OEO Studio projects include: two-starred Michelin restaurants Inua in Tokyo and Kadeau in Copenhagen; a luxury condominium apartment in Tokyo for Japanese property developer ReBITA, the global retail concept for Danish cycling apparel brand Pas Normal Studios, a showroom for the leading producer of exclusive wooden flooring, Dinesen and for iconic Italian lighting brand Flos, both in Copenhagen; an eclectic universe of coffee and tea for crafts-maker Kaikado in Kyoto and a private apartment hotel for Mutina in an old townhouse located in medieval Modena, Italy.
