Johan Mottelson is an architect and researcher focusing on urban development in East Africa. His work centers on informal settlements and he is the author of several books on subjects such as housing, land rights and urban form. Mottelson’s work has been published and exhibited on various acclaimed platforms, such as the Venice Biennale of Architecture, Louisiana – Museum of Modern Art, and ArchDaily. Mottelson is a PhD student at KADK – The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation.
