Festina Lente, puente peatonal en Sarajevo

Cruzar el puente es una experiencia única debido a su particular diseño y a los puntos de vista que se abren al pasar la puerta (la parte cerrada del puente) que nos prepara para entrar en otra dimensión y despertar nuestra espiritualidad. Las soluciones tecnológicas y el moderno diseño del puente se han convertido en la marca de Sarajevo. El concurso para la construcción del puente peatonal fue anunciado en el año 2007 y cinco años después el puente fue construido.

El puente fue construido en acero con acabado de aluminio y vallados de vidrio. El puente crea una estructura apropiada frente a la Academia de Bellas Artes, una antigua iglesia construida durante la secesión vienesa.

Su forma es única, simple y al mismo tiempo atractiva debido a la imprevisibilidad que desencadenan una serie de asociaciones y el establecimiento de una nueva visión. La simbólica puerta sigue la tradición de las entradas de nuestras ciudades, las cuales siempre han estado marcadas por puertas. Alrededor del puente tenemos diferentes instalaciones, como los dos bancos que al ser completamente distintos -uno cubierto con hierba y otro construido en piedra- crean un contraste visual. Los bancos, que se ubican en extremos cubiertos del puente, crean un lugar de encuentro e interacción. El puente se ilumina con luces blancas de LED.

Festina Lente (lat. hurry slowly), lightweight, agile, adaptable casual contact among all objects and human beings. The basic idea of the bridge is the union of the secular and spiritual and to establish a balance between left and right side.

Crossing the bridge is a unique experience because of its specific layout and views that we encounter when going through the gate (closed part of the bridge) preparing us to enter into another dimension, and awakes spirituality. Technological solutions and modern design of the bridge become the brand of Sarajevo. Tender for the construction of a pedestrian bridge was announced in year 2007, five years later the bridge was built.

Bridge construction is steel with aluminum trim and glass fence. Span is 38 meters. The bridge creates a true “genius loci” appropriate to the area in front of the temple as the Academy of Fine Arts. Former church today Academy of Fine Arts was built in time of the Viennese secession.

It’s form is unique, simple and attractive at the same time and because of the unexpectedness triggers a series of associations and establishing a new vision. Loop on the bridge is symbolic gate, in our traditions entries in the cities have always been marked by gates. Line appears on the most secession facilities among which include Academy of Fine Arts. Around the bridge we have different styles of facilities and two banks are completely different, one covered with grass and another built from stone, we decide for visual contrast.

On the bridge there are two benches in covered sections so it’s a place of meeting and interacting. White LED lights lit the bridge.
