Himalayas for the Future, Museum Logo Design Competition
Featuring continuity, innovation, diversity, nature and environmentally conscious, Himalayas Art Museum launched a global call for submission for its new logo design in March this year. Within less than 2 months, over 1,400 pieces of designs were submitted from all over the world. After a 5-day first round selection, proposals of 10 designers stood out and entered the second and final round selection.
They are: Miao Xiaoyong (China), Yang Weijie (China). Hosanna Yau (Hong Kong, China), Timo Tontti (Finland), Wang Xin (China), Hernan Berdichevsky (Argentina), Angelo Romano (Italy), Gao Qian (China), Philips Aldimulyo Budiman (Indonesia) and Elfrio Creative Studio (Spain). On May 8, a jury panel consisting of Shen Qibin (Director of Himalayas Art Museum), Ding Yi (Dean of Fudan Design College, artist), Hu Jieming (Director of Shanghai Institute of Visual Art, artist), Ou Ning (Director of Shao Foundation, curator, artist) and Huang Shengkai (Creative Director of Himalayas Art Museum) made the final selection of the logo design competition. Given the fact that no single entry was unanimously approved by the judges in terms of its fitness to the museum’s philosophy and vision, it was hereby determined that there would be no final winner in the logo design competition. Contestants Wang Xin and Gao Qian are to be rewarded with Award Winning Finalist Prize for the bold creativity shown in their proposals.
The two contestants will be rewarded with a prize of CNY10,000. All finalists will be rewarded with a VIP card of the museum.
