MX_SI is an experimental architecture studio, formed by international architects based in Barcelona. The studio was founded in 2005 on receiving the first prize for the construction of the Federico García Lorca Centre in Granada, currently under construction. The firm focuses its work primarily on developing both public architectural competitions of a cultural and historic nature. Gradually, its creative activity has been consolidated by winning numerous awards in national and international competitions such as Europan 8 in Gothenburg Sweden 2006, The Auditorium of Lucena Córdoba 2006, ROG art centre in Ljubljana 2008.

Likewise, the Spanish National Architecture Award 2013 and the “AJAC award” for young architects in Catalonia 2010, in recognition of its work. The partners, Mara Partida, Boris Bezan and Hector Mendoza, have previously worked with renowned international architects either together or separately, developing major projects in different countries in Europe and America.

MX_SI moves on the basis of the continuous search for the essence of architecture as the logic and dialogue between structure, geometry, spatial and visual context and  expression. Its work is characterized by its versatility for solving complex programs, understanding user needs and the context and the outward appearance as a whole. It also shows great sensitivity with regards time, integrating the new with the existing while highlighting the visual qualities of their projects and the place.
