HeijltjesAkkaya is an Amsterdam based product design studio led by industrial designers Simon Akkaya and Maarten Heijltjes.  HeijltjesAkkaya creates objects from a curiosity of how products and our physical environment affect behaviour and take on design projects that cultivate the positive and sustainable.

A Simple Machine collection by HeijltjesAkkaya addresses the challenge of combining workdays spent sitting behind a desk with the much-recognised need for movement to offset a sedentary lifestyle. It’s a low-tech answer that brings together ergonomics and engineering to promote activity. A series of human-powered sit/stand furniture that invites and inspires activity.
