Snøhetta is an active partner within ZEB (The Research Center on Zero Emission Buildings). The ZEB Multi-Comfort House is a cooperation between Snøhetta, Scandinavia’s largest independent research body SINTEF, ZEB partner Brødrene Dahl, and Optimera.

V-Lodge, in Norway

This all-year cabin is located in the mountains above the village Ål, amidst cross-country ski tracks in winter and hiking tracks in summer. It is well suited for the family of five and designed to accommodate changes in family composition and a mix of generations in the years to come.

Cabin at Norderhov

Atelier Oslo
The project is located in Krokskogen forests, outside the town of Hønefoss. Its location on a steep slope gives a fantastic view over the lake Steinsfjorden. The site is often exposed to strong winds, so the cabin is organized around several outdoors spaces that provide shelter from the wind and receives the sun at different times of the day.

Despite the informal program the small service building on Jektvik ferry terminal the project is very much an experiment. Besides of meeting some very pragmatic functions - a waiting room and two rest rooms – the projects is first and foremost about transparency and construction and the architectural consequences of these.

Sohlbergplassen viewpoint, in Norway

The Norwegian painter Harald Sohlberg (1869-1935) stayed in the Rondane mountain area for several years to do studies for his most famous work, Winter Night in the Mountains. The motif was a summation of sketches from several standpoints. The most recognisable position was close to where the viewpoint platform is built today.

In 2008 JVA won the competition for the new master plan of Myrkdalen ski resort near Voss. Myrkdalen Hotel is the first project from the master plan that is realized. The volume and location of the building is understood as a part of a greater scheme.
