The Pinwheel Pavilion
The Pinwheel Pavilion is the winning entry of the Arch Triumph Energy Pavilion 2016 Competition. The project represents the exploration of potential energy that a single action triggers.
Through public interaction, the Pinwheel Pavilion aims to spread the idea that people, regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, or beliefs, are the most prominent force that propels a community’s prosperity. The individual is the single component that triggers the grander action. Inspired by the classic children’s toy, the pinwheel, the Pavilion is a catalogue of mills upheld by a forest of pillars. Each of the wheels are systematically aligned; a push of a single wheel triggers the adjacent, and so on, spinning each subsequent wheel.
A total of one-thousand-nine-hundred pinwheels will be pushing each other forward.
