DUNMOW HOUSE

This family home, located in the residential area of Kifissia, north of Athens, comprises three floors. The topography of the site, crammed with tall pines, permits you to enjoy views over the surrounding hills, the Greek capital and the sea. The house, located to the rear of the lot, has a linear approach to better maximize the orientation and use of free space. The idea of respecting the privacy of the spaces in their indoor-outdoor relationship is a constant in the project. This feeling is achieved by straight and curved stone walls, and the different types of terraces, distributed according to usage, orientation and hierarchies. Following this premise, the guestroom, on the first floor, is structure independently from the rest of the house, while the masterbedroom also enjoys an intimate space. The common areas on the ground floor have their center on a small courtyard with a wooden lattice, giving a warmth atmosphere. The spaces are communicated with each other and with the outside through large wooden structures, taking a porch with a curved roof as a counterpoint. A heated indoor pool in the basement, with interior stone walls and a magnificent panoramic window overlooking the garden and another outdoor summer pool complete the program of this home.
