Russet Residence, in Canada

This project is located in West Vancouver on a steep site with mature cedar and douglas fir to the west and an ocean view to the south. The house responds to these conditions by nestling itself into the hill while also projecting out over it to maximize views and connectivity to the landscape.

House in the March District, in Switzerland

The house in March District is located in the midst of a densely populated suburban neighbourhood near the bank of a narrow brook. Working with a modest sized parcel, the trick in the scheme was to minimize the footprint. This task was made all the more challenging by the client’s request for a four-car garage.

Cove 3 in Pezula Estate, Knysna

The site is in The Cove development at Pezula Estate outside Knysna. It enjoys fantastic sea views to the East and to the South. The approach is from the North West and there are houses that overlook the property from the East and the North. The site slopes from the North West to the South East.

Luxembourg House

The site for this private house is a sloped, wooded property located in an almost rural area that affords botch seclusion and panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The main volume of the house stands as a glass prism, L-shaped in form to separate its distinct spatial zones.

Summerhouse in Sweden

The summerhouse is located between two fjords on the Swedish northern west coast. The site is surrounded by a national park and nature characterised by rounded granite rocks and windswept trees. Other houses in the area, mostly summerhouses from the 1950s, are more of a pavilion type than representative of the local building tradition.

Villa Dind

As it overlooks the Swiss Riviera, the building site is characterized by a large garden with a hilly landscape and offers many different views over Lake Geneva, the mountains and the forest. The projected access has been dug into the land; a long retaining wall unfolds over seventy meters to the top of the hill.
