The  renovation of a farmhouse erected in 1890 in the Fürstenfeldbruck  district is focusing on the reorganization of  the floor plan, the preservation of the basic structure, particularly  the roof truss, and above all the creation of diverse and  atmospherically dense interior rooms offering a very special living experience to a family of four.

Wooden houses, in Amsterdam

For the past decade, Wenslauer Street in the Bellamy neighbourhood of Amsterdam has been undergoing a metamorphosis. In collaboration with the city council, the Stadgenoot housing corporation and various individuals, architects and small developers, a dozen dwellings have been renovated, and more than ten old houses have been demolished and replaced by new buildings.

La Branche, in Belgium

The project is a peaceful combination of old and new. The new part is a sober black canvas looking at the garden from behind the old walls. In several places remnant parts of the old walls are kept as garden elements, an aspect that strengthens the atmosphere. When you walk through the house you feel continuously that you are in a nexus between old and new.

I received an urgent call from a client asking me to transform a modest wooden frame shelter (covered with tile) into a renovated and bigger garden pavilion. It was a basic construction in a eclectic yard landscape serving a luxury villa.

Inaugurated in 1965 (original design by Eduardo Mendes Guimarães Júnior and Gaspar Garreto) as the second largest stadium in the world, the Mineirão Stadium is located in the surroundings of the Pampulha Lagoon, close to Oscar Niemeyer’s and Burle Marx seminal work, being part of Belo Horizonte’s main postcard.
