The modernist architecture of the building and the rich history of the location inspired the designers to preserve the Soviet heritage. They focused on carefully restoring the original architectural features and materials — sandstone, marble, parquet and a " soaring " staircase.

The Pingtan Children’s library is located in the Dong Minority village of Pingtan, Tongdao Province, Hunan, China.  This small timber structure, three stories high and approximately 80 sqm in area is entirely built in timber.

The intention of Vratislavice nad Nisou was to place a multifunctional hall, facilities for associations and a kindergarten centre in addition to the library. The former rectory could not accommodate all the functions, so it was decided to extend the building with an extension.

Libraries are key parts of the social infrastructure in our society. One of the few remaining public spaces, libraries are places of sharing, learning and discovery. For this project, Fivedot was able to turn a casino, which took from the community, into a library; which gives back to the community.

Wutopia Lab's Tianya Books for Sanya Tianya Haijiao Scenic Area was officially opened in June 2021. Once regarded as the end of land in China, Tianya Haijiao is now not only a famous scenic spot, but also the most famous wedding photography and confession spot in South China.

Books in Clouds – Duoyun Bookstore in Huangyan

Wutopia Lab designed Duoyun Bookstore in Huangyan, which was officially completed and grandly opened on June 26, 2021. This is the first store in a foreign province for Duoyun Bookstore, which was born in Shanghai. It can be described as a cloud symbolizing idealism that slowly rises on the bank of Yongning River.

Toyou Bookstore

Wutopia Lab
Toyou Bookstore got its name from Big You Mountain and Little You Mountain. "Er" in Chinese indicates the number "two". The two mountains are the site where scholars preserved books from burning by Qin Shi Huang. It is a symbol of the continuity of Chinese culture in the future. Taking the two mountains as the theme of my design, I decided to spatialize the two abstract and symbolic mountains into the bookstore.
