DM Multifunctional Room
The design intent is to provide a multifunctional space of 22m², which will accommodate two professionals and their work activities, such as lectures, meditation and psychological support.
Considering that it is a small place, the project was challenging as it demanded a careful study.
Besides planning spaces for the work activities, it was also requested a small waiting room and coffee area which should be integrated.
The biggest concern was to create storage spaces to accommodate several chairs, a stretching table, study materials such as books and lesson files, a mat used for meditation and cleaning supplies.
In order to meet the client’s needs, it was created a concealed cupboard in wall panelling which was called as a “ magic place” by the client’s.
A table for eight people which could be disassembled when needed. This table could also be expanded up to three time its original size.
Sustainability was one of the client’s premises so natural lighting was used and proper office acoustic for therapeutic activities. A door which separates the waiting room and the work space was adapted to help minimize the noise or block the sound.
The lighting was inspired in industrial style so all the ceiling lights and spots are apparent.
Elements such as lighting, neutral colors, but with strokes of color, the furniture adapted to small dimensions and the strategic layout of the furniture can contribute to make the space become a more comfortable, functional and pleasant workplace.
