Manadaº Architecture Awarded twice with the Interior Innovation Award 2014
The Mexican-German Architecture and Interior Design studio Manadaº has been awarded with two Interior Innovation Awards 2014 by the German Design Council.
The awarded projects WIRT and HEDGEHOG have been displayed as part of the awards special exhibition during the IMM Cologne from January 13th to 19th, 2014 (http://www.imm-cologne.com). This double award confirms Manada’s commitment for excellence and sustainability in design, which are concepts shared also by their Bed 42, awarded by the same German Design Council back in 2012.
Both awarded designs are part of the ongoing research of manadaº to reconfigure everyday objects adding them flexibility for contemporary lifestyles as also to make them ecologic, social and economically sustainable.
WIRT is a contemporary hallway solution that combines different essential functions for the contemporary flaneur in one single object, with the flexibility to be re-configured depending of the space where it’s placed. Handcrafted in 100% solid American oak, WIRT is finished in black with its wood veins still visible. WIRT can hold magazines, post mail, coats, store your umbrella, place your keys, and assure you look great before going out with its mirror.
The HEDGEHOG tables are constructed in different sizes but always keeping in common a solid wood structure and a range of different table top finishing options. Among its different versions HEDGEHOG can have a solid wood or corian tabletop as also custom colors in both materials. The flexibility in shapes and colors reflect the spirit of modernist design.
