COBE is an international architecture company founded in Copenhagen, Denmark, in 2006. COBE is managed and owned by architect Dan Stubbergaard and employs around 100 dedicated architects, landscape architects and urban planners.

For us, architecture is not a matter of a certain style or form, but more importantly its adaptability to the local context, its social life and its users. It is our aim to create social interaction through all projects. That is why COBE has developed a community of architects with the capability to approach all scales of architecture from urban planning, to buildings and public space. It is these elements combined, that create the physical conditions for people’s lives and their social interaction.

Since its establishment, COBE has gained international recognition through the realization of beautiful and innovative projects in both Denmark and abroad. These include, among others, The Library in Copenhagen (2011), Porsgrunn Maritime Museum in Norway (2013), Denmark’s new rock music museum Ragnarock in Roskilde (2016), Adidas HalfTime – a conference center and VIP showroom at the sport brand’s HQ campus in Germany (2018), Nørreport Station – Denmark’s busiest train station in Copenhagen (2015), and the urban development of Nordhavnen (The North Harbour) in Copenhagen – the most extensive and most ambitious metropolis development project in Scandinavia in the years to come (completed over the next 50 years).

COBE has received several national and international awards and honors in its 10 years life span. These include, among others, the Golden Lion Award at the Venice Biennale in 2006, Nykredit’s Architecture Prize in 2012, The Dreyer Foundation Grant Prize of Honor in 2015 and the Eckersberg Royal Medal in 2016 awarded by Queen Margrethe II of Denmark.
