Tokyo Torch

Planning is currently underway for the multipurpose super high-rise building, which places, wellness, and environmental sustainability at the core of the city’s architectural evolution.

The podium of the building will feature a large open-air plaza as well as event halls, an aerial walkway (terrace), an underground pedestrian zone connecting directly to Tokyo Station, and a waterfront area along the Nihonbashi River. Offices with sky lobbies as well as a hotel, observation deck, and large semi-outdoor hill-like plaza on the top floors are also planned. The project aspires to serve as a new hub for tourism and connection in the global city of Tokyo. The design of Torch Tower and the adjoining open-air plaza is a collaboration between Mitsubishi Jisho Sekkei, in the role of core architect and designer, and three next-generation design advisors (Sou Fujimoto, Yuko Nagayama, and Takanori Fukuoka).
