The White Overlap

New Techniques x Architectural Details x Green Lattice Verticals x Straight Lines x Monumentality Going loud with the overlaps and foresting the facade outlook in ratios. Renesa Architecture Design Interiors’s latest addition to the residential category challenges the architectural system of typical floor plate living in the Indian Cities.

The design of The White Overlap was done to create a synergy, cohesiveness and still stand out in the middle of a typical “Balcony over Balcony” builder design system which is on an all time high in the capital.

An attempt was also made to make the built mass green ,not in the literal sense, but since the facade was west facing, the idea of sun shading volumes overlapping vertically and horizontally were in cooperated to make the structure highly efficient.

Also the color was predominantly white laid over the base layer which was strategically layered over the building scale to provide a volumetric monumental impact on the viewers from the street. The careful use of the vertical metal lattice was done to conceal the A/C outdoor units with the other utility instruments in front of the toilet blocking of the front master rooms and at the same time break the latitude character happening at alternate floor bands.

The Design Ideology was kept simple , three volume play with two volumes happening at different floor plates and the third turned perpendicularly to increase the scale power of this building.

The White Overlap challenges, understands and recreates a new architectural creation to the already on-going system of typical floor buildings and provide that homely feel that a home needs.
