Pizza 4P’s Restaurant
The capital of Vietnam - Hanoi is a fast developing city with increasing urbanization and growing population, currently 8 million people. The location of the newly designed restaurant Pizza 4P'S is an area of ??the city with high-rise buildings along with a large number of hub roads.
One of the main concept goals was the sensational separation from the commercial conventional space and creating a place where the customer forgets about the surrounding commerce of a high-rise building.
Suspended and supported perforated cylinders providing zones for seating. Another intention was to impact the visitor’s mind applying ingenious composition of levitating cylinder volumes. Conceptual inspiration cylinders arose from the spatial experience of traditional brick kilns from Vietnam.
The main structure of these cylinders is made of wooden blocks similar in size to traditional bricks in northern Vietnam. Wooden blocks assembled together using careful joints by the dry method without gluing so that the wood can expand itself and work according to changes in humidity. If necessary, this method of the installation will allow the material of cylinders to be reused at another location.
A combination of local traditional materials such as wood – local species of fast growing acacia, rattan, tanned wood surfaces, terrazzo, steel elements are low cost local materials. The interior was partially equipped with new and also renovated customized older furniture from a non-existent restaurant in Hanoi. Distinctive interior element is a long dining table for 12 people made of steel reinforcing bars, wood-concrete table legs and glass top.
