INVERNESS TERRACE
AMA were appointed as interior architect for a new residential development of twenty flats in Bayswater, W2.
The scope of works focussed on the design of the main entrance and lobby, the circulation spaces and the layout and design of the apartments together with landscaping elements of the scheme.
A cantilevered copper canopy hovers above reflecting pools and a large plate glass window, creating an inviting entrance to the main entrance lobby which simultaneously becomes creating a space to move through and to arrive, pause and reflect. A rich material palette of marble, grey oak and Indian Rosewood focusses on defining the main lobby spaces, conceived as carved elements within the main space. A central light hangs as an art piece within the lobby space.
Contrasting materials break up the circulation spaces, leading to the individual apartments with large windows looking out to Lubetkin’s listed Hallfield Estate.
