The Osny Multimedia Library, in France

The multimedia library of Osny was designed by Triptyque's architects as a covered urban space : an extension of the public space.

The project draws freeing up the architectural plan, reducing the boundaries between inside and outside. The building is designed like a hall, emphasizing spatial fluidity and scalability of interior spaces for future adaptations.

The multimedia library is covered by a large canopy supported by concrete columns and bounded by a large glass curtain. Thanks to the glass, the building has a transparency maximum that puts the spaces into perspective. Moreover, the walls no longer exist, optimizing the ratio of public equipment in the life of the town .

The library is built on two levels: on the ground floor, the visitors will find areas dedicated to children and young adults, and a relaxation area. The mezzanine will house offices and a meeting room. Finally, the areas of documentation and multimedia, as well as a working room, will take place on the floor.

The Triptyque agency wanted to simplify the architecture to dedicated the building to the greatness of the spaces (ceiling height, full height windows).
The Osny multimedia library becomes a symbol of fluidity and accessibility of information for everyone. It depicts and reaffirms the real social relations as a basis of the virtual worlds. According to Triptyque, the contemporary multimedia library , is a public place of information accessibility and exchange.

The construction of the multimedia library of Osny began in March 2014 , it should be delivered on April 2015.
