In 2010, Mauro Turin Architectes wins the ‘Europe 40 under 40 Awards’. Granted by the European Center for Architecture, Art design, and Urban studies and the American Chicago Athenaeum-Museum of Architecture and Design ; this reference prize among the young generation awards the forty most promising emerging European architects according to this organisation. More recently in 2012, the office was selected –among almost 200 applications from around the world– to be part of the final list of 50 candidates to win the prestigious prize WAN 21 for 21 Awards given by the organisation World Architecture News.

The work of the office was recognized by the National Museum of Fine Arts and the Architect Association of La Pampa in Argentina. It was published as well by architecture magazines in Switzerland (Hochparterre, Viso, Archi), in Italy (L’Arca), in Holland (Mark), in Germany (books ‘Competition Architecture’ and ‘1000 x European Architecture’), in Russia (Interni), in Turkey (Konsept Projeler), in Taiwan (Design), in Thailand (B1) and in Argentina (Summa+, Clarin arquitectura, El Cronista Arquitectura, El Cronista Solo Casas).

Projects were exposed in Spain during the international symposium ‘The City and the World’ of Madrid, in Greece in the exhibition ‘Europe 40 under 40 Awards’ at the Contemporary Space of Athens, in Argentina in the context of the prize ‘Arquitectura para las Américas’ at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Buenos Aires, at the Museum of Fine Arts in Santa Fe during the exhibition ‘Argentina Nueva Arquitectura’ and in Ecuador in the XIV Pan-American Biennale of Architecture of Quito.

Mauro Turin –1969 Argentina– studies at the Buenos Aires University (UBA) and graduates with the highest mark for his final project. From 1996 until 2000, he runs his own office in Argentina and then moves to Europe; there, he collaborates with Architekten Cie in The Netherlands during the year 2001 and with Richter-Dahl Rocha in Switzerland between 2002 and 2003. In 2004, he establishes Mauro Turin Architectes in Lausanne; the office focusses on researches that it considers fundamental in order to give the emerging projects a deep content that can be translated into long lasting vital experiences during the life of the resulting buildings.

Mauro Turin was an assistant to the visiting lecturer architects Mansilla-Tuñon and to the visiting lecturer architects Sancho-Madridejos at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). He was guest critic at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (ETSAM) in 2007 and at the Haute École du Paysage, d’Ingénierie et d’Architecture de Genève (HEPIA) in 2009 and 2010. In 2011 and 2012, he is also invited as a visiting lecturer for the 3rd year bachelor project workshop at the Haute École du Paysage, d’Ingénierie et d’Architecture de Genève HEPIA. He was a speaker in Madrid in 2010 during the international symposium ‘The City and the World’. Together with his office, Mauro Turin was rewarded with the prize ‘Europe 40 under 40 Awards’ in 2010.
