Autor: Nicolas Bovesse

Nicolas Bovesse is a Belgian designer based in Brussels. A key feature of his work is his determination to give meaning to objects. This is how he structures his research and turns the usual typologies upside down in order to question the human element.

Design is, for him, a constant meeting of the different disciplines (art, craftsmanship, industry). He regards the creation of an object as a complex alchemy, the fruit of the meeting of several hands. His creations jostle continuously, mixing together, emerging and taking shape on his enormous work- bench. Nicolas Bovesse is an attentive observer of the landscapes within which he evolves by dint of his spontaneous fantasy. Displaying his fascination with manipulation, transformation and juxtaposition, his creations are consciously constructed, just as – in the language of the plastic arts – he manufactures his own personal and poetic idiom.
