Tomas Rossant, designer of the new Beus Center for Law and Society, is committed to architecture as a powerful change agent, impacting and improving institutional cultures. He sees the role of the architect as never being more relevant as an instrument to shape culture, society, and positive environmental outcomes, a theme explored in his recent past role of President of the American Institute of Architects New York Chapter. Mr. Rossant is committed to creating a new paradigm for academic life: one that both nurtures individuals and builds deep communal bonds that transcend departmental and cultural lines— a goal exemplified by BCLS, as well as his current work on the College of Architecture, Planning & Design at Kansas State University, and the new Student Commons at Northwestern University.
