The architecture studio DEFERRARI+MODESTI was founded by Javier Deferrari and Lavinia Modesti in 2010 in Florence, Italy. It is a multidisciplinary design studio that focuses on architectural, interior, exhibition and industrial design. In 2010 the studio participates in the first edition of the Florence Design Week with the installation Sottofondo/#01 in the interior courtyard of the BRAC bookstore.  Given the success of the installation,  the project was then transformed into a permanent installation. As a result, the studio focused on the total restyling of the local.

In 2011 DEFERRARI+MODESTI was in charge of developing the concept for a new exhibition design at the Piaggio Museum in Pontedera, Tuscany. The studio was also in charge of developing the feasibility study for the preparation of the Museum Conca in San Miniato. In 2013 the studio designed the interior  of the Cocktail Restaurant La Petite in the historic center of Florence which was published in various magazines.

In 2014 Javier Deferrari and Lavinia Modesti collaborated with Mirage Granito Ceramico to develop a concept for the Cersaie 2015 stand and they recently completed the new corporate showroom of Marco Corona 1741 in Sassuolo, Italy. In addition to its interior design projects, the studio advances research on different materials and is developing products for the industry.

In 2014 it produced a collection of ceramic claddings for Mirage Granito Ceramico titled XGone. The product was chosen to be part of the Adi Index 2015 and is a candidate for the Golden Compass Award XXIV edition.
